Ice C.H.I.P.S.
BFSC offers a free weekly group lesson for all club members with an emphasis on beginners skills.
Our amazing Ice CHIPS on-ice coordinator, Coach Beth Wainman, leads a 30 minute group lesson each Sunday from 3:00-3:30. For the most effective learning and improving skills, consistent attendance is encouraged.
During Ice CHIPS time, eligible Freestyle-level skaters are invited to participate in our Junior Coach program by assisting Coach Beth or arranging to shadow/assist another coach's private lessons.

Other Competitions
Members of the Brookings Figure Skating Club may choose to challenge themselves further by participating in figure skating competitions throughout the region.
Competing is completely voluntary, and skaters may compete in a single competition or as many as several competitions throughout the skating season.
The costs to participate in a competition, including the registration fees as well as any transportation and lodging costs, are the responsibility of the skater.
BFSC competition liaison coach Katie Bratberg reviews skater registrations for completeness and accuracy before sending registrations to competitions.
She coordinates judging responsibilities by coaches at competitions, and serves as a point of communication and coordination between ISI, local competitions, and families/skaters.
Katie can also answer questions about competitions and registration and help those that are trying out competitions for the first time get comfortable with the process.
Completed registration forms, a check for registration fees (payable to the competition), and a $10 liaison fee per skater per competition (payable to BFSC, which will in turn compensate the liaison coach) must be given to the liaison or placed in the black BFSC drop box in the warming room by the deadlines below.
For more information on competitions, what to bring, and how to prepare, see the Skaters/Parents Competition Checklist.
